What Is CANmeleon?

CANmeleon is an open, general-purpose USB-CAN / CAN FD hardware and software platform. It covers controller ICs, board-level modules, finished CAN analyzers and adapters, and hardware configurations from 1 to 64 channels.

Its purpose is to prevent CAN hardware from being permanently tied to one protocol, driver or desktop application. Through CANmeleon device manager, users can install protocol applications that connect the same hardware to different CAN drivers, tools and engineering workflows.

Why CANmeleon?

Traditional USB-CAN devices are usually closed ecosystems: one hardware product is paired with one protocol, driver family or software tool. Moving among PCAN-View, CANoe, ZCANPRO, CANking and SocketCAN can therefore require multiple adapters and driver stacks.

CANmeleon brings hardware, protocol applications, device management and software compatibility into one platform. The same hardware can be reused across multiple toolchains, much like a general USB serial interface.
